About this service
New sink installations and replacements for kitchens and utility areas. We dry-fit first to confirm the cut-out is correct, then bed the sink in food-grade silicone, level it across both axes, and connect the waste with a proper P-trap. For undermount sinks we use stainless brackets and a high-tack sealant, then leave the cabinet free for 24 hours to cure. Drain run is sloped to the existing waste at no less than 1 in 50.
Common symptoms we see
- Sink rocking or feeling loose at the rim
- Water seeping under the sink into the cabinet
- Slow drain or standing water in the bowl
- Bad smell from the drain even after cleaning
How we do it
- 1Measure cut-out and dry-fit the sink
- 2Bed in silicone or fit undermount brackets
- 3Connect waste, P-trap and angle valves
- 4Run water for 10 minutes to verify dry under cabinet
Materials we use
Food-grade silicone sealant, stainless undermount brackets, 40/50 mm PVC P-traps, brass angle valves, hot-water flexible connectors where needed.
Typical duration
1–1.5 hours for a top-mount sink; 2 hours for undermount with cure time.
Safety & quality
Stainless sinks are sharp at the cut edges — we deburr and tape them before lifting into place.
Frequently asked questions
Do you cut the granite counter?
No — granite cutting is a stone-mason job. We co-ordinate with your mason and arrive once the cut-out is ready.
How long before I can use the sink?
Top-mount: immediately. Undermount: 24 hours so the silicone cures fully under load.
Will you install the kitchen mixer at the same time?
Yes — combining sink and mixer in one visit saves a separate call-out fee.
