About this service
Drain fittings are the gratings, traps and connections that move waste water from the fixture into the drainage line. Bathroom floor drains, kitchen sink wastes, washing-machine drain points and outdoor grates. The common failure is the trap drying out and odour rising; the fix is a deeper trap or a self-sealing dry trap. For floor drains we level the drain with the surrounding tile and test by pouring half a bucket of water — slow drainage means the slope is wrong.
Common symptoms we see
- Odour rising from a bathroom or kitchen drain
- Water pooling around the floor drain
- Drain grate broken, missing or stuck
- New washing-machine point needs a drain
How we do it
- 1Inspect existing trap and slope
- 2Replace trap, grate or connector as needed
- 3Set drain level with finished floor
- 4Pour-test with water; verify clean drain
Materials we use
Stainless or chrome floor grates, deep-seal P-traps, dry-trap inserts (HepvO style), silicone for floor seal.
Typical duration
1–2 hours per drain.
Safety & quality
Drain work behind washing machines — we kill the electrical socket before pulling the appliance.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my floor drain smell only sometimes?
The trap is drying out. A deep-seal trap or a dry-trap insert solves it permanently.
Can I replace just the grate myself?
Yes for screw-in grates. Press-fit ones often break the surrounding silicone — easier to call us.
Will you raise the floor drain to match new tile?
Yes — common job during bathroom renovation. We fit an extension before the tile goes down.
