About this service
Wash basin installations across types — pedestal basins, wall-hung half-pedestals, counter-top vessel basins and full counter-mounted basins. We mark and drill into solid wall (not just tile), use proper M8 anchor bolts for wall-hung models, fit the pop-up waste with a bottle trap, and seal the rim with food-grade silicone. The pop-up linkage is the part that fails first — we adjust it for a clean lift and a tight close.
Common symptoms we see
- Basin loose at the wall or wobbly on its pedestal
- Slow drain or standing water in the bowl
- Pop-up waste won’t close or won’t open fully
- Damp patch on wall behind the basin
How we do it
- 1Mark and drill into solid wall behind the tile
- 2Anchor bolts and bracket; level basin in both axes
- 3Fit pop-up waste, bottle trap and angle-valve connections
- 4Silicone-seal the rim against the wall and run water test
Materials we use
M8 anchor bolts, basin brackets, brass pop-up wastes, PVC bottle traps, food-grade silicone, flexible braided connectors.
Typical duration
1–1.5 hours per basin.
Safety & quality
Wall-hung basins need solid wall behind the tile; we test the wall first and refuse the install on hollow blockwork without backing.
Frequently asked questions
Can you fit a counter-top vessel basin on my existing counter?
Yes, if the counter has the right cut-out (or no cut-out for full vessel basins). We size the waste accordingly.
My pop-up waste won’t hold water — why?
The seal at the bottom of the plug has perished. Pop-up assemblies are a low-cost replacement.
Will the basin take an adult leaning on it?
Pedestal: yes. Wall-hung: yes when bolted into solid wall, no on hollow blockwork without a metal backing plate.
