About this service
Rerouting existing supply or drain runs to a new fixture position or to clear the way for a renovation. We map the existing route end-to-end, plan the new route to minimise concealed work, transition cleanly between materials at brand-recommended adaptors, and pressure-test the rerouted section as a single circuit before sealing back up. Most reroutes are driven by sink moves, WC repositions or first-floor extensions.
Common symptoms we see
- Renovation moving a fixture to a new wall
- Existing pipe run blocking a structural change
- New extension needs water and drain extension
- Old visible run needs to be hidden during refresh
How we do it
- 1Map existing route and new endpoint
- 2Open access points; install new run with proper support
- 3Solvent-weld and pressure-test
- 4Reseal walls and floors as needed
Materials we use
CPVC and UPVC pipe and fittings, brass adaptors for transitions, pipe lagging where exposed.
Typical duration
4–8 hours for a single fixture reroute; longer for multi-fixture changes.
Safety & quality
We plan reroute paths to avoid electrical conduits — chase clashes are surveyed before cutting.
Frequently asked questions
Will the old pipe stay in the wall?
We cap and abandon short stubs in place; longer abandoned runs are pulled out where access allows.
How do you avoid hitting wires or conduits?
Visual survey at access points, plus a wire-detector pass on suspect chases before cutting.
Can you reroute hot water from a far geyser?
Yes, but long hot runs lose heat. Sometimes a second geyser at the new point is the better answer — we advise on both.
