Ball Cock / Siphon Installation in Jaipur

About this service
A failing ball cock is the most common reason an overhead tank overflows or a WC cistern hisses constantly. We replace the float valve, adjust the float arm to the correct shut-off level, and confirm the siphon (in WC cisterns) refills cleanly without phantom flushes. For overhead tanks we also check the inlet pipe for scale build-up — Jaipur water leaves a fine deposit that slows valve seating.
Common symptoms we see
- Overhead tank overflow even when supply is off
- Constant hiss from the WC cistern
- WC fills very slowly after flush
- Phantom flush — cistern refills on its own at intervals
How we do it
- 1Drain the tank or cistern below valve level
- 2Remove old ball cock; clean valve seat of scale
- 3Fit new float valve and adjust arm height
- 4Refill and watch a full cycle to confirm clean shut-off
Materials we use
Brass-stem ball cocks, plastic float balls (high-density), siphon flapper kits, washer kits.
Typical duration
45–60 minutes per cistern or tank.
Safety & quality
We support overhead-tank ladders and never stand on the tank lid itself.
Frequently asked questions
My WC fills but won’t flush properly — is that the siphon?
Usually yes. The siphon flapper has perished or the chain length is wrong. Both are quick fixes.
Can a noisy ball cock be fixed without replacing it?
Sometimes — the noise is often a worn washer. If the body is still good we replace the washer kit.
How often should overhead-tank ball cocks be replaced?
3–5 years in Jaipur. Hard water shortens valve life; an annual visual check catches early failure.
